Bee Life Bee Removals

An interesting photo of a feral hive in between floors. A small row of honey on top, followed by bee bread. This is standard storage procedure for early spring. If there is no honey the bee bread may go to the top. The bee bread is nectar mixed with pollen to ferment the silica capsule surrounding pollen granules which ferment, breaking the silica to allow the granules of pollen to be digestible for the larvae. The larvae is the white in the cells of this photo. You can also see how the bees coated the fallen mud dauber nests with propolis and built their wax combs around them.
